For most of our summer jobs you will be applying to Chris McMahon at Select English in Cambridge. He is the Director of Studies and is responsible for recruiting teachers, summer Course Assistants and Social Organisers.

For jobs based at the London school or at King's Bruton in Somerset you will need to apply to Steve Mann at our London school

New teachers (summer)

Can first-timers please fill out the online application form or send a detailed CV. Please note that we will follow up all references. If you are likely to be teaching under 18s we will ask referees to confirm that they know of no reason why you shouldn't work with children and also ask you to sign a declaration to the same effect. It is possible that we may carry out Criminal Record Bureau Checks. Please note that we normally expect all teachers to have a degree and a TEFL qualification such as the CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL as a minimum. We cannot help with work permits - please do not apply if you do not have the required work visa for the UK.

Returning teachers (summer)

If you can't stay away and really do want to come back please contact Chris or Steve or fill in the online application form with your latest contact details and information about the work you have been doing in the last year. You don't necessarily have to teach on the same courses as last year - the earlier you let us know your preferences the more likely it is that you will get what you want.

If you have any friends or colleagues who are looking for summer work and who you think are suitable - please refer them to us as we are keen to talk to potential new staff members.

Year round 

We do operate courses year round and are always happy to discuss openings that sometimes come up after the summer or in the spring.

We need extra teachers in March / April to teach an intensive IELTS course and for a group of Japanese teenagers. Contact Chris if you or someone you know might be available.
