English plus Business

The English +Business course provides an interesting introduction to UK Education with a combination of tuition in business subjects and English as well as offering a diverse social and cultural activity programme. 

This course is particularly useful for students who wish to study at a UK university in the future, although it will be enjoyed by anyone with a general interest in business or who wants a little more than just English.

(Note that as this course contains academic as well as English content , it is not inspected or accreditied by the British Council)

Location

• Close to shops, banks and other city centre amenities
• Beautiful location in the heart of cambridge A short walk to many historic, architectural and artistic sites such as:
  • Kings college
  • The Eagle pub where Crick and Watson relaxed while unravelling the secrets of DNA at the original Cavendish Laboratory
  • The Fitzwilliam Museum, which houses one of the biggest and most significant collections outside of London
  • The River Cam where you can watch punts (small boats) struggle past the beautiful college backs

Learning

• Students receive tuition in academic courses and English language
• 8 week course taught in four two-week modules
• For students with intermediate (PET or similar) level of English
• 20 hours of tuition per week as follows:
  • Business studies - 3 hrs
  • Economics - 3 hrs
  • Communications - 3hrs
  • Study skills - 1hr
  • General English - 10 hrs

Living accommodation:

• Family homestay
  • Live with a Cambridge family
  • Single rooms
  • Half-board: breakfast and evening -meal provided

Sports and Social Programme

• Students join the Select Central course social programme
• Full sports and social programme in afternoon and evening
• Welcome and farewell parties
• Full day-trip on Saturdays
